The following is taken directly from the website of Blackbird Interactive :
In 2010 development started with an ambitious sci-fi game entitled HARDWARE. Inspired by Homeworld, a franchise developed by some of BBI’s founders, it was originally planned as a Free to Play (F2P) real-time strategy (RTS) game. After Gearbox Software bought the Homeworld IP in 2013, a deal was signed at PAX between Gearbox and BBI to turn HARDWARE into the next game in the Homeworld franchise.
The videos here are an archive of promotional videos for HARDWARE: Shipbreakers. They were released in early 2013, prior to the announcement of the collaboration between Blackbird Interactive and Gearbox Software, when game changed to become a part of the Homeworld universe.
As with my earlier post on the Homeworld series of games, the promotional material for Hardware uses the same 2.5D techniques to create a series of teaser trailers, and three introductory episodes to the game world.
